Il suo approccio “progressista” diversificato alla musica permette a Flavio di creare brani unici fra loro. Da un lato l’amore per le colonne sonore dona alla sua musica un aura di maestosità e solennità, mentre le accattivanti tonalità dello synth-pop e funk, assimilate negli ultimi anni, fanno risuonare la sua forte devozione alla musica elettronica. Flavio Calaon nasce e cresce in Ticino, Svizzera, nei pressi della latente metropoli luganese. Qui il 29enne riccio di capelli, si cimenta da anni con passione e dedizione alla musica sotto varie forme e collaborazioni. Tutto iniziò negli anni 90, quando, allo stremo della sua famiglia, guardava e riguardava affascinato il classico Disney “Fantasia” e si immergeva con grande emozione tra l'eccelsa collezione di vinili della madre, ascoltando spesso i suoni impegnativi di Vivaldi e Mozart per citarne alcuni. Poi arrivò la prima tastierina Casio, che divenne lo strumento che catapultò Flavio nel travolgente mondo dell’espressione musicale. A 14 anni, continuando la strada autodidatta della composizione su tastiera, prese parte al movimento bandistico con il trombone finendo per comporre due brani intitolati “La passeggiatina di Lucifero” e “Leponti”. Nonostante Flavio si trovasse spesso immerso nella scena classica e orchestrale, la sua curiosità per altri generi e approcci iniziò pian piano a prendere una forma più concreta. Infatti, tra il 2013 ed oggi, lanciarono diversi progetti, tra cui il primo gruppo musicale “Animal’s Factory”, inizialmente complesso metal con colori sinfonici, trasformato successivamente in progressive rock/metal con tematiche sociali. A seguire l’Electronic Synthesizer Lab, un laboratorio “open-doors” nato per amatori della sintesi sonora e aperto oggi anche ad altre forme d’arti; e il duo Synth e di batteria “Flanard” che, ispirati da ambientazioni Sci-fi retrò e supereroi, portarono una musica Dance a sfondo epico. Oggi, mentre continua a lavorare per raggiungere il prestigioso titolo di direttore d’orchestra a fiati, la sua espressione artistica resta diramata in diversi mondi: come solista e compositore per i propri pezzi e come membro dei gruppi “Shindo” (elettronica avant-garde) e “Sofsky” (indie-pop/post-rock).
