Altoparlanti, casse, telefoni, auricolari bluetooth, computer, vecchi lettori musicali e chi più ne ha più ne metta. Ognuno di noi ha la necessità di ascoltare musica e, per farlo, adopera tutti i mezzi a sua disposizione: musica a palla quando si va in macchina, cassa a volume basso mentre si studia, o le abituali cuffie per non disturbare gli altri. Gli auricolari, però, rimangono da sempre lo strumento privilegiato per l’ascolto musicale proprio perché permettono all’ascoltatore di chiudersi nel proprio mondo, lasciarsi inondare dalla potenza musicale e costruirsi una piccola oasi privata, nella quale partecipano solo il soggetto e le proprie orecchie.
Da diverso tempo si parla della nuova tecnologia 8D che riguarda, in modo particolare, il mondo della riproduzione musicale tramite le comuni cuffiette.
Per tecnologia 8d si intende una nuova rivoluzione acustica che proietta la musica in un universo multidimensionale, come spiegato dalla definizione del tecnico del suono Andrés Mayo:
Si basa su una manipolazione di fase che impedisce al cervello di identificare da dove viene il suono. Ciò significa che grazie al lavoro di mix che si realizza per generare l’8d (la cui definizione si avvicina all’idea di musica 360° o binaurale) la mente umana entra in una specie di parco di divertimenti di suoni che vanno e vengono, e che regalano una sensazione di spazialità che approfondisce ancor di più quella vissuta con il suono stereo. In questo modo la musica (o almeno la sensazione che il suono genera) non rimane più circoscritta a due fonti sonore (lato destro e sinistro) bensì diventa uno spazio virtuale di forma sferica, dove si possono apprezzare stimoli che sembrano provenire da diversi angoli.
Come appena descritto, questa nuova riproduzione musicale funziona solo grazie all’ausilio delle cuffie e, nell’ultimo periodo, sono state condivise soprattutto sui social network, una serie di musiche 8D quali: Hallelujah dei Pentatonix o Bohemian Rhapsody dei Queen.
Spiegare a parole la rivoluzione insita in questa tecnologia è piuttosto complesso, motivo per cui l’unica dimostrazione può avvenire in maniera pratica. Una volta avviata la canzone, a qualsiasi volume essa venga riprodotta, si avverte una nuova spazialità sonora come se la musica si infondesse in tutta la stanza o provenisse appunto dall’esterno. Il suono balza da un orecchio all’altro e il cervello rimane particolarmente colpito inconsciamente, come se stesse assistendo a un concerto divulgato grazie a una serie di casse invisibili poste intorno a sé.
Sull’argomento è ancora presente molto scetticismo da parte di chi, in modo particolare, sostiene che questa tecnologia sia solo un inganno del nostro sistema sensoriale e che possa provocare anche dei danni alla salute. Ovviamente nulla di questo è ancora stato accertato e la tecnologia 8D è virale e ne è concessa la libera condivisione. In questo periodo di quarantena forzata, quindi, questa nuova rivoluzione musicale non può che essere ben accolta per lasciarsi influenzare e arricchire da qualche nuova esperienza sonora pronta a rompere la monotonia delle nostre giornate.
